Laser Alignment

“World-wide, it is estimated that as much as 85% of all equipment failures are attributed to imbalance and misalignment.”

Alignment means that machines are accurately aligned so their shafts are in line, I.e. their centre-lines are in a straight line. If this precondition is not fulfilled, tension constraining forces and vibration will exist during the operation of the machine train, which will have a detrimental influence on the loading of the shafts, couplings, bearings and foundation. If the alignment error exceeds the permissible tolerances, the result will be bearing and coupling damage, shaft deformation and premature material fatigue. Alignment is a critical aspect of machinery dynamics requiring specialized knowledge and accuracy. Laser alignment of critical machines removes a major cause of premature failures.

Laser Alignment can be conducted for example on the following:
A) Shaft Alignments e.g. Horizontal machines, Vertical/Flange mounted machines, Cardan/Offset-mounted machines.
B) Soft Foot checks
C) Tolerance checks
D) Sheave/Pulley alignments e.g. V-Belts, Flat Bets, Timing Belts and Chain Drives

Dynamic Balancing

“Correctly balanced machines result in improved operation, reduced bearing wear and fewer machine failures.”

Balancing means improving the mass distribution of a rotating object so that it rotates in its bearings without any effect from free centrifugal forces, and the bearings are not subjected to excessive periodic forces at the fundamental frequency. A rotor is completely balance when the center of gravity axis coincides with the rotational axis as prescribed by construction. Correctly, balance machines result in improved operation, reduced bearing wear and fewer machine failures. By obviating the need to remove a rotor, CMS provides cost-effective on-site balancing of rotating machinery in up to 16 planes. This is ideal for use on most types of rotating machines.

Balancing can be conducted for example on the following: :
a) Couplings
b) Fans
c) Pumps
d) Blowers
e) Motors
f) Turbines etc.
